ObliCal • Privacy Policy
Your tracking data should stay yours.
This Privacy Policy explains how ObliStudios LLC handles information when you use ObliCal, our food, carb, calorie, macro, weight, barcode, Apple Health, stats, and wellness tracking app.
Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 15, 2026
App: ObliCal
Company: ObliStudios LLC
ObliCal is designed for local-first personal wellness tracking. We aim to collect as little personal information as possible.
If we add accounts, cloud sync, ads, analytics, subscriptions, or other services later, we will update this Privacy Policy.
Information You Enter in the App
ObliCal may store the following information that you enter or create in the app:
- Food entries, food names, serving sizes, calories, carbohydrates, sugar, protein, fat, and meal type.
- Daily calorie, carb, weight, and nutrition goals.
- Current weight, goal weight, and preferred weight unit.
- Saved foods, barcode cache entries, local food log history, and custom food details.
- Weekly and monthly stats generated from your food, activity, and weight entries.
- App settings, including Apple Health options and food database update preferences.
This information is stored locally on your device unless you choose to export it, import it, search online food data, scan a barcode, or submit missing barcode food details to ObliCal’s food database.
Local Storage
Core ObliCal tracking data is stored locally on your device using iOS storage. Deleting the app may delete locally stored ObliCal data, subject to iOS behavior and backups.
Reset App Data, if available in your app version, is intended to clear local ObliCal data stored by the app.
Import and Export
Export My Data creates a JSON backup that may include supported local ObliCal data. If you share or store that exported file outside the app, you are responsible for where that file is saved.
Import My Data restores supported data from an ObliCal JSON backup.
Food Search, Barcode Lookup, and Food Database Updates
ObliCal may use food data sources and ObliCal food database endpoints to help find and update nutrition information.
Food Search
When you search for food by name, your search term may be sent to food data services or ObliCal food database endpoints so the app can return nutrition results.
Barcode Lookup
When you scan a barcode, ObliCal reads the barcode on your device and may send the barcode number to a food lookup service or ObliCal food database endpoint to identify the product.
Missing Barcode Submissions
If a barcode food is missing, you may choose to submit product details to ObliCal’s remote food database for review and future updates. Submitted food details may include barcode number, food name, brand, calories, carbs, sugar, protein, fat, and related nutrition fields you provide.
Food Database Updates
ObliCal may check for approved food database updates so newly approved foods can become available in the app.
Apple Health
If you enable Apple Health features and grant iOS permission, ObliCal may access selected Apple Health data to display activity information in the app.
- Active Energy Burned may be used to show calories burned.
- Heart Rate may be used to show average heart rate.
- Health data is accessed only after you grant permission through iOS.
- You can change Health permissions at any time in the Apple Health app or iOS Settings.
ObliCal does not sell Apple Health data or use it for third-party advertising.
Camera Access
ObliCal requests camera access only to scan food barcodes.
- ObliCal does not use the camera for advertising.
- ObliCal does not save photos or videos from barcode scanning.
- Barcode scanning is used to identify packaged food products and nutrition information.
Notifications and Reminders
If you enable notifications, ObliCal may schedule local notifications for supported reminders in your app version.
- Notifications are handled through iOS notification services.
- Reminder settings are stored locally on your device.
- You can disable notifications in iOS Settings.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your nutrition, activity, weight, or Health data for third-party advertising.
- We do not require an account to use core app features.
- We do not intentionally collect medical records from healthcare providers.
- The public app does not expose private admin controls.
App Status, Privacy & Data, and Help

Nutrition values, activity calorie estimates, goals, reports, and suggestions may be incomplete, outdated, estimated, or inaccurate.
